GMBC’s Rich History- 60th Celebration
As we reflect on and celebrate our church’s 60th Anniversary, as youth, it’s important to recognize the rich history you have been able to have, see and participate in.

•    Most, if not all, of you have been SAVED here at this church.
•    You have been baptized here at this church.
•    You have been a witness to a blessing from GOD - a New Sanctuary.
•    You and your family members WORSHIP together at this church.
•    You have a Great Man of God - Pastor Jones, who gives you spiritual guidance / principals
      at this church.
•    You participate in various activities in your Youth Ministry here at this church.
•    There is a Children’s Church and Youth Church Ministry where you can worship (most
      churches don’t have).
•    Committed adult volunteers have been dedicated to you.
•    You have shared in the Feast of Gethsemane / Happy Birthday /Back To School Drive/
     Community Service.
•    KAA & Youth Convention – sponsored trips from this church.
•    There is a GMBC Education Scholarship Fund specifically designed to help you further
      your education.
•    College & Career Day was implemented to give you the tools to succeed.

All of these blessings require a thankful response from each of us. That  response is to participate actively in your church and to tell other youth about the goodness of Jesus in your life , so that they might also be SAVED through Christ Jesus.
HOW TO ACT IN CHURCH / YOUR RESPONSIBILITY
The sanctuary, God’s House, is a sacred place of worship. Keep all paper, gum and other food items off the pews and floors.  Marking or writing on walls or sitting on church furniture is behavior that is disrespectful to God.

The blue and pink envelopes are only to be used for tithes and offerings. Do not write notes or messages on them or use them to wrap gum in.

Turn off all forms of phones before entering the sanctuary.

The church grounds are holy ground. Please do not use profanity, play loud or lewd music, fight, smoke or drink on the premises.

Please be courteous and move down the pews, so other people may share the pew with you.

All worshippers should be on time. Late comers distract from the reverence of the service.

Just as you show up for school activities, you must be committed to actively participating in ministry at church. Participating in the youth activities (Choir or Usher), Bible Study and Sunday School are some ways you can be active.

There is no walking or talking once the announcement has been made that the “The doors of the church have been opened / The Invitation is Extended to those who are lost and/ or searching for a church”.
Special Announcements

YOUTH ON THE GO

Next summer, Germod Williams will be participating with the CISD People to People program heading to Australia.

Meagan Johnson represented the South Central Region of Jack and Jill of America September 16-19, in Washington DC.  She, along with regional teen officers from across the country, participated in “On the Hill Legislative Summit” where they visited the Senate and Congressional members of their home states and districts to discuss issues that are affecting youth. Meagan’s discussion centered around H.R.576 Healthy Children through the School Nutrition Education Act.
